Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) have a strategic role in addressing unemployment and poverty. However, if the management is not done professionally, then the established cooperative or business entity will not progress and develop. Pekanbaru as the capital of the Riau province became the center of the Riau province, is expected to be a common example for the empowerment of UMKM in Kabupaten / Kota Riau province. There are 4 different efforts of the Cooperative Office and UMKM of Pekanbaru City in the empowerment of SMEs that consist of legality, market strengthening, access to capital, and assistance. The results of the research are seen from the Government Planning in the Empowerment of Small and Medium-Sized Micro-enterprises (UMKM) in Pekanbaru City, the government has set up a five-year strategic plan (Renstra) with goals and objectives that are considered to be the right target in empowering UMKM

Pengaruh Penerapan Media Macromedia Flash Terhadap Hasil Belajar Peserta Didik Pada Materi Sistem Pencernaan Makanan Pada Manusia Di SMPN 2 Manonjaya Tasikmalaya

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh macromedia flash terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik pada Materi Sistem Pencernaan Makanan pada Manusia di kelas VIII SMP N 2 Manonjaya Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode true eksperiment dengan populasi seluruh kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Manonjaya, sebanyak 5 kelas dengan jumlah siswa 148 orang. Sampel diambil dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling sebanyak 2 kelas, yaitu kelas VIII D sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VIII E sebagai kelas kontrol. Untuk mengukur hasil belajar peserta didik, digunakan instrumen berupa tes hasil belajar berjumlah 32 butir soal yang berbentuk pilihan ganda. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji t dengan α 0,05. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, analisis data dan pengujian hipotesis didapatkan nilai t­hitung = -5,69 dan ttabel =2,04. Maka thitung terletak di daerah penolakan Ho, hal tersebut menunjukan bahwa adanya pengaruh penerapan media macromedia flash terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik pada materi sistem pencernaan manusia di kelas VIII SMP N 2 Manonjaya Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan media macromedia flash memberikan pengaruh terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik pada Materi Sistem Pencernaan Makanan pada Manusia di kelas VIII SMP N 2 Manonjaya Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019

Combination therapy with normobaric oxygen (NBO) plus thrombolysis in experimental ischemic stroke

<p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>The widespread use of tissue plasminogen activator (tPA), the only FDA-approved acute stroke treatment, remains limited by its narrow therapeutic time window and related risks of brain hemorrhage. Normobaric oxygen therapy (NBO) may be a useful physiological strategy that slows down the process of cerebral infarction, thus potentially allowing for delayed or more effective thrombolysis. In this study we investigated the effects of NBO started simultaneously with intravenous tPA, in spontaneously hypertensive rats subjected to embolic middle cerebral artery (MCA) stroke. After homologous clot injection, animals were randomized into different treatment groups: saline injected at 1 hour; tPA at 1 hour; saline at 1 hour plus NBO; tPA at 1 hour plus NBO. NBO was maintained for 3 hours. Infarct volume, brain swelling and hemorrhagic transformation were quantified at 24 hours. Outcome assessments were blinded to therapy.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>Upon clot injection, cerebral perfusion in the MCA territory dropped below 20% of pre-ischemic baselines. Both tPA-treated groups showed effective thrombolysis (perfusion restored to nearly 100%) and smaller infarct volumes (379 ± 57 mm³saline controls; 309 ± 58 mm³NBO; 201 ± 78 mm³tPA; 138 ± 30 mm³tPA plus NBO), showing that tPA-induced reperfusion salvages ischemic tissue and that NBO does not significantly alter this neuroprotective effect. NBO had no significant effect on hemorrhagic conversion, brain swelling, or mortality.</p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p>NBO can be safely co-administered with tPA. The efficacy of tPA thrombolysis is not affected and there is no induction of brain hemorrhage or edema. These experimental results require clinical confirmation.</p

Aplikasi Karagenan Sebagai Emulsifier Di Dalam Pembuatan Sosis Ikan Tenggiri (Scomberomorus Guttatus) Pada Penyimpanan Suhu Ruang

Karagenan memiliki salah satu fungsi sebagai pengemulsi. Salah satu pengolahan yang perlu mempertahankan stabilitas emulsi adalah sosis ikan Tenggiri. Tujuan penelitian ini mengetahui peran karagenan sebagai hidrokoloid dalam meningkatkan kestabilan emulsi dan kestabilan emulsi sosis ikan Tenggiri selama penyimpanan suhu ruang. Materi yang digunakan adalah ikan Tenggiri segar, karagenan, dan bahan pendukung lainya. Metode digunakan yaitu eksperimental laboratories. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan pola terbagi oleh waktu “Split Plot in Time”. Masing-masing perlakuan menggunakan 3 kali ulangan. Data hedonik dianalisis menggunakan uji kruskal wallis. Hasil penelitian pendahuluan didapat konsentrasi terbaik subtitusi karagenan 2,5% dan tepung tapioka 7,5%. Hasil penelitian utama menunjukkan bahwa jenis sosis yang berbeda dan lama penyimpanan memberikan pengaruh yang sangat nyata (P&lt;0,01) terhadap nilai stabilitas emulsi, nilai gel strength, nilai kadar air dan Aw, pada penyimpanan suhu ruang selama 3 hari. Nilai emulsi sosis ikan dengan subtitusi karagenan (K1) penyimpanan hari ke-0, ke-1, ke-2, ke-3 berturut-turut yaitu 84,39%, 82,81%, 80,13%, dan 79,02%, sedangkan tanpa subtitusi karagenan (K0) penyimpanan hari ke-0, ke-1, ke-2, ke-3 berturut-turut yaitu 81,58%, 77,46%, 72,88%, dan 69,33%. Pengaruh jenis sosis yang berbeda dan lama penyimpanan menunjukan perbedaan yang sangat nyata (P&lt;0,01) terhadap nilai hedonik

The use of mesenchymal stromal cells in treatment of lung disorders

The therapeutic use of mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) represents a promising alternative clinical strategy for treating acute and chronic lung disorders. Several pre-clinical reports demonstrated that MSCs can secrete multiple paracrine factors and that their immunomodulatory properties can support endothelial and epithelial regeneration, modulate the inflammatory cascade, and protect lungs from damage. The effects of MSC transplantation into patients suffering from lung diseases should be fully evaluated through careful assessment of safety and associated risks, which is a prerequisite for translation of pre-clinical research into clinical practise. In this article we summarise the current status of pre-clinical research and review initial MSC-based clinical trials for treating lung injuries and lung disorders

Systems and technologies for objective evaluation of technical skills in laparoscopic surgery

Minimally invasive surgery is a highly demanding surgical approach regarding technical requirements for the surgeon, who must be trained in order to perform a safe surgical intervention. Traditional surgical education in minimally invasive surgery is commonly based on subjective criteria to quantify and evaluate surgical abilities, which could be potentially unsafe for the patient. Authors, surgeons and associations are increasingly demanding the development of more objective assessment tools that can accredit surgeons as technically competent. This paper describes the state of the art in objective assessment methods of surgical skills. It gives an overview on assessment systems based on structured checklists and rating scales, surgical simulators, and instrument motion analysis. As a future work, an objective and automatic assessment method of surgical skills should be standardized as a means towards proficiency-based curricula for training in laparoscopic surgery and its certification

Stromal regulatory T-cells are associated with a favourable prognosis in gastric cancer of the cardia

<p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>Recent evidence suggests that CD4⁺CD25⁺FoxP3⁺regulatory T-cells (Treg) may be responsible for the failure of host anti-tumour immunity by suppressing cytotoxic T- cells. We assessed the prognostic significance of tumour infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) in intestinal-type gastric cardiac cancer.</p> <p>Methods</p> <p>Tumour infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) subsets and tumour infiltrating macrophages (TIM) were investigated in 52 cases using tissue microarrays. The interrelationship between the cell populations (CD3+, CD8+, CD20+, CD68+, GranzymeB+, FoxP3+) in different compartments and NED-survival was investigated (median follow-up time: 61 months).</p> <p>Results</p> <p>Intraepithelial infiltration with TIL and TIM including Treg was generally low and not related to NED-survival. However, patients with large numbers of FoxP3⁺Treg in the tumour stroma (>125.9 FoxP3⁺TILs/mm²) had a median survival time of 58 months while those with low FoxP3⁺TIL counts (<125.9 FoxP3⁺TILs/mm²) had a median survival time of 32 months (p = 0.006). Patients with high versus low stromal CD68⁺/FoxP3⁺cell ratios in primary tumour displayed median survivals of 32 and 55 months, respectively (p = 0.008).</p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p>Our results suggest that inflammatory processes within the tumour stroma of gastric intestinal-type adenocarcinomas located at the gastric cardia may affect outcome in two ways. Tumour-infiltrating macrophages are likely to promote carcinogenesis while large numbers of Treg are associated with improved outcome probably by inhibiting local inflammatory processes promoting carcinogenesis. Thus, inhibition of Treg may not be a feasible treatment option in gastric adenocarcinoma.</p
